Chocolate, Coffee and Sugar Cane Tour
Costa Rica's lush landscapes, temperate climate, and mountainous terrain offer perfect growing grounds for crops such as chocolate, coffee, and sugar cane. On this artisan experience, you will visit a small plantation and medicinal plants garden in the local area. You will not only learn about the cultural and biological background of cacao in the world and here in Costa Rica too, but also the ancient ritual of collecting, fermenting, grinding, and finally the making of chocolate, the drink of the gods. During this experience, you will also be introduced to local coffee, its importance for Costa Rica's economic and cultural development as well as the production from crop to cup. Finally, you will have a hands on experience with the "trapiche", a mechanical mill used to extract sugar cane juice where a local cocktail will be made.
